renderings by Kevin Adams

fall 2020

Due to the covid pandemic, we postponed and postponed and postponed this production several times in 2020 and 2021. I had a LOT of time on my hands and lots of ideas bouncing around in my head and I wanted to get them out and into some form so I could still remember them. Really, I just wanted to keep busy making something. Anything. Also, I wanted to make something to excite and energize our pre-production zoom group and eventually I presented these on a zoom meeting at some point. They laughed and laughed when I showed them. Went very well.

These renderings are an indication of palette and color shifts and energy and scale, and this was a place to start when writing the cues. I wanted them to look like hand made objects from an earlier disco time and I wanted them to look like different people made them. Like it was a class project with many different hands. I told our zoom group “some of the hands are more talented than others.”  They laughed.
